"Regina Wallace—Jones"

We are pleased to introduce Regina Wallace-Jones, ActBlue’s CEO and President.

ActBlue is a leading digital fundraising platform supporting Democratic candidates, progressive organizations, and their donors. Regina Wallace-Jones, ActBlue’s CEO and President, is recognized for her outstanding work, dedication, and leadership at major tech companies. Her commitment to public service has also led her to serve as mayor of East Palo Alto.

We are excited to share with you an exclusive interview with Regina Wallace-Jones, where she discusses her approach to creativity and leadership.

How do you find time to recharge your creative energy? Do you have a favorite way to rejuvenate your creative spirit?

Regina Wallace-Jones: When traveling for work with ActBlue, I seek out neighborhood spots—family-owned restaurants and community gathering places. I find my creative energy through authentic local experiences.

At home, I focus on being present with my husband and our two lovely daughters, while staying updated on local politics. These grassroots connections ground me and spark new ideas on how to better serve the community of Down Ballot Candidates.

Visiting different communities and witnessing how they come together reminds me of why democratizing political fundraising is so important.

Who and what are inspiring you the most, both inside and outside the ActBlue office?

Regina Wallace-Jones: I'm inspired by the hard work and dedication of local candidates—school board members, city council hopefuls, and individuals building their own fundraising efforts using our Campaign in a Box platform. Outside the office, I’m inspired most by my two daughters forging their own paths.

One aspires to be a filmmaker, while the other is still exploring her future. Watching them view the world reminds me that the next generation isn’t defined by just technology or trends—they’re defining themselves through persistence and passion.

What lessons have stuck with you throughout your career, whether during your time in public service or now as CEO and President of ActBlue?

Regina Wallace-Jones: Whether serving as a city council member or leading ActBlue, my core mission remains the same: ensuring that every candidate—regardless of location or funds—has the infrastructure to compete. Many believe technology alone solves our problems, but it doesn’t. Real change in democracy requires democratizing access to tools and resources and working diligently at the grassroots level.

We need patience and perseverance in building lasting change in our communities.

What advice would you give to talented creatives aspiring to make a difference in their communities by challenging them to take up space?

Regina Wallace-Jones: I encourage everyone to be authentic. Bring your whole self to the table without apology.

Follow your dreams and don't seek permission to create the life you want. At ActBlue, we focus on strategic planning, expanding our product offerings, and accelerating initiatives like Campaign in a Box. We also build resilience through legal resources to defend our democracy. Our moves are not incremental; we aim for significant progress.

How do you see the next generation of leadership compared to when you started?

Regina Wallace-Jones: The next generation will need confidence to push forward despite setbacks. They’ll need to multitask, balancing innovation and defense simultaneously. I hope they draw on my leadership approach—focusing on innovation, evolution, and compliance—to build resilient operations against bad-faith actors.

What is one habit you’ve changed that helped you as a leader and could help future leaders?

Regina Wallace-Jones: I’ve stopped viewing existential threats as the primary concern for transformation. When Project2025 targeted ActBlue, we decided to stand firm rather than just play it safe.

We prepared ourselves with tools to stay ahead—adopting AI, strengthening legal infrastructure, and deepening grassroots organization efforts. Challenges faced on our $17.5 billion platform turn into opportunities for building stronger systems next time.
