"Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show"



On Friday, November 7, 2025, the Philadelphia Museum of Art launched the official weekend with its 49th annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, located at 1101 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art's Contemporary Craft Show began the weekend-long event with its Preview Party on Thursday, November 6, 2025. This special preview offered attendees a glimpse of the craft show and the stunning work by participating artists.

The show will be on display from Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11 a.m. through Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 5 p.m. Featuring 195 talented artists from across the country, this exhibition showcases some of the best in contemporary craft.

On Thursday, November 6, 2025, attendees enjoyed the Preview Party, which included a cocktail buffet, the annual award ceremony, and an opportunity to purchase artwork displayed at the event. Nine artists received awards this year, one for each category.

These nine artists were recognized for their outstanding work in their respective mediums. During the award ceremony, one artist was honored with the prestigious Best in Show award.

- The Eric Berg Memorial Prize for Excellence in Metal: So Young Park

- The Louise K. Binswanger Prize for Best Artist New to The Show: Lisa Smith and John Sterling

- The Cohn Family Trust Prize for Excellence in Glass: Matt Kolbrenner

- The Prize for Excellence in Fiber Art: Amy Gillespie

- The Jane and Leonard Korman Family Prize for Excellence in Clay: Nicholas Everett

- The Carolyn Benesh Ornament Magazine Prize for Excellence in Art To Wear: Betsy Giberson

- The Levitties Family Prize for Excellence in Design: Galen Gibson—Cornell

- The Prize for Excellence in Jewelry: Xinia Guan

- The Wharton Esherick Museum Prize for Excellence in Wood: Nicholas Barnes

Craftshow Manager Nancy O’Meara comments:

The Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Contemporary Craft Show officially opened on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11 a.m., giving visitors the chance to explore artworks created by the selected 195 artists. Attendees can also shop for their favorite pieces, with artists receiving 100% of sales.

This year, the craft show features a range of interactive demonstrations by talented artists, including 'Fit to be Tied,' a scarf and shawl tying demonstration with four artists, and a fashion show showcasing works by selected artists.
